New member Eddie Addis wins the first 25 mile TT of the season, with an excellent time of 54:56. Second was Alistair Meikle, 58:24 and third was Graeme Lawrie, 1:00:26. Other riders were Jeremy Weston 1:05:19, Bill Hamilton, 1:07:48 and Bill Lowes 1:08:48. In addition to the 25 some members rode a 10 mile TT with Rob Martin riding 20:46 and setting a new confined club course record. Other riders doing the 10 were Neil Shepherd 24:04, Rob Patterson 25:32, Colin Tough 26:12, Scot Purves 26:17, Steven Lowes 26:51 and Murray Shiells 30:45.
Thanks again to time keepers and marshalls/ helpers, having to brave the cold wet conditions.
Next week is a double header with a 10 mile on the Gala course on Monday 23rd and then round 2 of the Border Trophy at Hutton, Berwickshire on Thursday.

Thur 26 May: Round 2 Border Trophy at Berwick. 10 mile TT. Let me know if you are riding and or if you need additional detail. Again strongest team required to build on the good start in Rd1 and 10+ riders required to cover any issues during the race.
First round of the Border Trophy saw 63 riders race over the Gala CC 10 mile course. Wilson Renwick from Hawick, riding for Parentini Test Team was fastest on the night with a time of 20:47. Second and first Gala CC rider was Rob Martin with 20:55. This series of races takes the fastest 8 riders from each competing club and Gala came out on top in this first race. A large number of riders had to help marshall the race however we still had a good turn out of 14 Gala riders and in finish order they were: Nathan Beard 22:39, Alistair Meikle 23:00, Neil Shepherd 23:45, Graeme Lawrie 24:12, Ross Ketteridge 24:38, Allan Dawson 25:18, Jeremy Weston 25:22, Toby Dawson 25:29, Calum Crawford 25:55, Scot Purves 26:29, Colin Tough 26:44, Gareth Murray 29:00 and Murray Sheills 30:59.

Rob Martin recovered from his sickness bug last week rides 21:04 in tonights 10mile TT. This was a good workout before he heads to Dundee at the weekend for the Scottish 10 mile TT. Second on the night was Alistair Meikle with 24:12 and third was Graeme Lawrie 24:47. Other riders on the night were Jeremy Weston 25:16, Ross Ketteridge 25:27, Allan Dawson 26:10, Rob Patterson 27:16, Bill Lowes 27:24, Bill Hamilton 27:28, Murray Sheills 31:02 and Sarah Hamilton 32:41.
Next weeks race has Gala hosting round 1 of the Border Trophy, a series of 10 mile TT's with first rider off at 7pm from Abbotsford House carpark.
